DART Student Handbook

everything you need to know about being a student in DART: please read!

Borrowing Costumes for course-related work at DART

  • for 2011-12 the borrowing hours are (ONLY): Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12 to 2 PM

Materials Fees

  • Field trips are included in material fees this year. We have some great shows lined up - some at the Brock Centre for the Arts, some in Toronto. Details will be on course outlines distributed by instructors. NOTE: You may end up being charged twice (or more) for some field trips depending on your course selection. We are aware of this and will work out refunds and credit your accounts in early September. This can only be done after enrollments are complete. Please note: the maximum you would be charged would be $391.00 for field trips, including bus fares. We don't believe there are any students who would end up going to all trips. As usual, there are the regular material fees for some courses.
  • NB required field trips are included on your course outlines. Field trip tickets are now being charged as part of material fees and it is your responsibility to check the charges are correct and inform the instructor ASAP of any erroneous charge. If you drop a course after Sept 20 & before the academic penalty date it is your responsibility to use or sell the ticket(s) that the department will have already purchased on your behalf.

Medical Exemption Policy and Certificate form

  • Please see http://www.brocku.ca:80/healthservices/exemption.php

The University requires that a student be medically examined in Health Services, or by an off-campus physician prior to an absence due to medical reasons from an : exam, lab, test, seminar, assignment, etc. When a medical condition requires special consideration for any academic activity (e.g. missed seminars or labs, assignment extensions or examination rescheduling), students and their physicians must complete this certificate. The completed certificate must be submitted to the Administrative Assistant for the Department/Centre/ Graduate Program within 3 working days of the End Date (**) noted in the form posted at the address above, in order to be considered.
